Growing up in Japan, I spent a good amount of my childhood riding my bike. My passion for bike repairs began when Mr. Tanaka, a small bike shop owner neighbor helped me work on my bike every time I needed a repair. My passion for bike repairs began when Mr. Tanaka, a small bike shop owner neighbor helped me work on my bike every time I needed a repair. I started RLB Cycleworks in 2012 after leaving the corporate world to carve my own path and to fuel my passion for riding, repairing and restoring bicycles. My mission is to get every cyclist maximum enjoyment out of every single ride.

Since 2012, our small independent bike shop has been serving the Chicagoland area. We service, repair and sell reconditioned pre-owned bikes. We cater to the "casual cyclists" without the intimidation you might face when walking into a typical bike shop.

We offer mechanical service work on most "regular bicycle-based" e-bikes - eg. tire/tube replacements, brakes, cables, derailleurs, etc. *We DO NOT service any of the electronic components (control boards, motors, wiring,

Do you have a bicycle you are not using or have one hanging from your garage ceiling that hasn't been touched in years? We will buy your shop-brand bicycle (limitations apply) for cash. We also accept bicycle donations - we work with numerous local bike co-ops and non-profit organizations to donate bikes to those in need.

We carry a large selection of tires, inner tubes, seats, chains. pedals, handlebar tape/grips, etc. to get you back on the trails quickly. If we don't have it in stock, we can get it for you from our suppliers with an access to over 50,000 different cycling parts and accessories.
